Welcome to OurSafetyPlan.ca. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, our web application, and the services we provide (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Our Service
OurSafetyPlan.ca provides a guided, subscription-based service that allows users to create personalized emergency preparedness plans. The information and tools are for informational and educational purposes only.
2. User Accounts
To access the core features of our Service, you must register and maintain an active user account. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account and for keeping your password confidential and secure. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
3. Subscriptions, Renewals, and Payments
- Annual Subscription: The Service is billed on an annual subscription basis. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to an initial and recurring annual subscription fee at the then-current annual subscription rate.
- Automatic Renewal: You agree that OurSafetyPlan.ca may submit periodic charges (e.g., annually) to your chosen payment method without further authorization from you, until you provide prior notice that you wish to terminate this authorization or to change your payment method. You will receive an email reminder approximately seven (7) days before your subscription is set to renew.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. The cancellation will take effect at the end of your current paid term.
4. Refund Policy
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied with our Service for any reason, you may request a full refund within seven (7) calendar days of your initial purchase. To request a refund, please contact us at [Your Support Email].
5. License and Use of Generated Plans
OurSafetyPlan.ca grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the emergency plan PDF generated by our Service for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may download, print, and share the plan with your direct family or household members. You may not resell, republish, distribute, or otherwise use the plan for any commercial purpose.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, icons, and the software used to provide the Service, is the property of Sean Kerrigan (operating as OurSafetyPlan.ca) and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
OurSafetyPlan.ca provides information and planning tools for emergency preparedness. The Service is intended for informational and educational purposes only. We do not guarantee the safety or survival of any individual. You acknowledge that preparedness is a matter of personal responsibility and that the effectiveness of any plan is subject to numerous external factors beyond our control. OurSafetyPlan.ca is not a substitute for the advice of professional emergency responders or officials.
By using this Service, you agree that OurSafetyPlan.ca, its founder, and its affiliates are not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses that may result from an emergency event.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
9. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the “Effective Date.” Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
